Mum and I did our usual Saturday morning garage sales and came home with some fabulous finds...
Our first stop was a multi-family garage sale packed to the brim with home decor items. I came across a gorgeous red enamel fisherman's lantern from Pottery Barn for $1 and a wire purse and pair of shoes, which I will place next to my wire dress form...I think it will look très chic!
Then I came across a gorgeous vintage tray that was tossed to one side...and I snagged it for 50 cents! I have something creative in mind...you all know how I like taking different pieces and giving them a twist, and the shape and design of this is perfect for what I have in mind...I'll show you the result tomorrow! But first, I'll give you a few hints as to what I may be doing with it:
- It takes 24-hours to dry
- You probably loved doing this as a child
- It's silver and black and write all over!
Now I'm heading off for a girls night. Tonight we're off to see 'License to Wed' which I've heard is hilarious, stuff our faces with buttered popcorn and then finish off the night with a trip to a dessert bar! Have a fabulous night, ladies!

Oh BOY! You know how much I love "finds"! This is great! Woo hooo!
Great finds, Kate! That silver tray is my favorite. Loved learning more about you in the previous post.
Hi Kate :)
Great things you found. Love that silver tray. It`s so much fun digging around in vintage places. I loved the book and the movie of Angelas Ashes.
Thankds for coming to visit!
Kate, thanks for stopping by my blog. I love reading about everyone's vintage finds.
Hope your mum makes you the chocolate torte - let me know if you like it.
Are all Aquarians chocoholics? I'm both of those too!
Oh, I love that red lantern. what a great find! I'm guessing that you are either decoupaging that tray or making a paper mache one.
I love the tray... and I can't seem to figure out what exactly you are going to do with it!! lol
24 hours to dry... paint maybe but what else?? hmmm
I will be back to find out! lol

You're so lucky to have your mum nearby to go yard-saling with. I live 3 1/2 hrs from my mum, and my sister and her go yard-saling nearly every Saturday. I am very envious...
Lovely blog!
