Le meilleur des deux mondes

Ahhh...the best of both worlds: strawberries and chocolate. Never was a pairing more suited for each other, and this is so easy to make. It's even better with vanilla ice cream or pound cake and whipped cream.

All you'll need is a container of plump, red luscious strawberries (raspberries work well, too), a half of a bag of Hersey's milk chocolate chips and a few tablespoons of heavy cream. In a glass Pyrex dish over a pot of boiling water, whisk together chocolate chips and heavy cream until chocolate is melted (I find that 4-6 tablespoons gives the chocolate the best consistency). Dip strawberries into chocolate; place on a sheet lined with parchment. Let the chocolate set and then comes the best part...tasting it! Bon appétit

Delicious - healthy fruit and decadent chocolate! Today, at our local Farmers' Market, I bought beautiful strawberries grown just a few miles away - first pick of the season. Tomorrow I'll serve them dipped this way, thanks for the great idea.
Just bought a fabulous new cook book - Joanne Harris' (author of CHOCOLAT and other great books) "French Market", complete with beautiful photos of France and food! Can't wait to try some new recipes.
Glad you had such a great night out with your girl friends - I do that with my old lady friends lol!!!

O my goodness...I love chocolate dipped strawberries!! I will try the raspberries, too. I've always liked the raspberry chocolate combo.

I see you have photos of dear Ben, here! Our Lab is Molly. She and Ben have a strong resemblance!!

I enjoyed visiting and will return!

Thanks so much for stopping by the back porch.
