A close friend of mine recently got married, and when I was shopping for her wedding present I realized what a rarity homemade gifts have become. In our fast-paced lives, we often resort to store bought presents with little meaning and creativity behind them. So, when I purchased a few gifts she had posted on her wedding registry, I thought I'd throw in my own personal touch and create a shadow box in celebration of her wedding day. The appreciation and gratitude expressed by friends and family when they are presented with these homemade items are worth all the time, effort, and creativity you have put forth.
The greatest gifts are the one tied with heart strings...

I have to agrre with you..in fact when my son marries in March, I will give them something similar with their gift.
This shadow box that you show is delightful..
How lovely!
One of my Mother-in-law's friends made us a charming gift for our wedding, 34 years ago. I treasure it. She took our announcement and mounted it on a plaque and did some lovely painting around it.
Another friend gave us a 1972 dated silver Christmas bell. Our wedding was in August. I hang it every year on our family tree.
Gifts from the heart are treasures. How kind of you to share your gentle spirit.

Oh how true...a gift from the heart, especially something you have crafted, written...the sharing of your talent...is always the best.
What a lucky couple to receive such a precious treasure.
Warm hugs,
Sue

That is such an awesome idea, and I'm sure it is a gift they, especially the bride, will treasure. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I would love to go to Italy this summer too. We'll see.:)
Blessings to your sweet friend on a lifetime of love and happiness and joy.
I love your card!
